What is Digital Credential?

Digital Credential is a secure, web-enabled version of a credential or qualification that can be easily shared, verified, and displayed online. It represents a new standard in professional recognition — one that aligns with the evolving needs of the banking and financial services industry.

Who Will Receive Digital Credential?

All individuals who complete HKIB’s Professional Qualification Programmes — including but not limited to the Certified Banker (CB), Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF), as well as their Specialist and Module Certificates — will be awarded a Digital Credential.

Phase 1: Retrospective Arrangement

[NEW] Professional Qualification Programme Specialist Certificate Holders	One month after passing the examination of Specialist Certificate in Green Finance and Sustainability or Specialist Certificate in Essential Fintech in Next-gen Banking

Phase 3: New Retrospective Arrangement

Affiliate Holders#	Holders of Specialist Certificate in Green Finance and Sustainability	By end of December 2025

@Renewed Professional Members who do not yet possess digital credential(s) for their relevant Professional Qualification(s) will be retrospectively issued the corresponding digital credential(s).

#Holders awarded the Specialist Certificate in Green Finance and Sustainability will be automatically exempted from The Enhanced Competency Framework on Green and Sustainable Finance (“ECF-GSF”) Module 1 and Module 2. They will also be retrospectively granted ECF Affiliate status and the associated digital credential.
