Specialist Certificate in Essential Fintech in Next-gen Banking (Macao)

Essential Fintech in Next-gen Banking aims to provide learners with comprehensive knowledge on the latest development of IT systems and financial technology. Learners are expected to relate the applications and implications of IT systems and financial technology, including relevant regulations and security controls, to banking and finance. The programme covers essential fintech concepts in banks, cybersecurity, AI applications, the emergence of generative AI, data analytics, IT compliance and IT operations, with a blended learning approach combining instructor-led training and self-paced E-learning.

Module Intended Outcomes

• Assess and analyse the latest development and market trends of IT systems and financial technology, and associate their implications to identify the technology needs of banks or financial institutions;
• Evaluate different kinds of financial technology, IT and security infrastructure to enhance and optimise the effectiveness and efficiency of IT platforms and services;
• Develop, design and implement data analytics based on risk levels, technology regulatory requirements and the effectiveness of security measures;
• Manage and monitor system development projects in accordance with system development standards and requirements;
• Monitor IT operations and services and identify potential risks for action to ensure smooth operations and risk mitigation.

Key learning areas include an overview of information systems and technology management, cyber security management, data management, analytics and artificial intelligence, FinTech for digital banking and service channels, compliance with information technology, business analytics, system projects and IT operations.

Entry Requirements

• Associate degree (AD) / Higher diploma (HD) students in any disciplines; OR
• Equivalent qualifications or above; OR
• Mature applicants* with 3 years of relevant banking experience with recommendations from employer.

*Mature applicants (aged 21 or above) who do not possess the above academic qualifications but with relevant banking experience and recommendation from their employers will be considered on individual merit.
