2023-2026 Continuing Education Development (Macao)

The exams of the below programmes are eligible for the application.

To be eligible for reimbursement under the Scheme, applicants must be:

• The applicant must be a Macao resident who has reached the age of 15 on or before 31 December of any year between 2023 and 2026.
• Eligible examinations must be commenced and completed on or before 30 June 2026. While applications must be submitted within 180 days after the examination date and no later than 31 July 2026.
• Applicants who register for an eligible examination administered by the HKIB at least 90 days before 13 October 2025, and provide proof of registration, may also apply successfully.
• The examination must not be conducted remotely.
• The applicant must provide a personal or joint bank account opened in Macao for the purpose of fund disbursement.
• If the applied exam has already received full or partial funding from the Education and Youth Development Bureau or any other public entity in Macao, the applicant must declare this at the time of application. This scheme will only subsidise the remaining amount, subject to the balance available in the applicant’s continuing development account.
• Applicants may submit multiple applications for different sittings of the same eligible course examination.

1. Application Procedure

• Access the Designated Portal

Applicants must log in to the designated portal personally to complete the application form, upload the required documents, and submit the application. Upon successful submission, a confirmation SMS and email will be sent by the system.

• Identity Verification Requirements

Applications must be submitted using the applicant’s own account.  Submissions on behalf of others or using another person’s account are not permitted.
If suitable equipment is unavailable, applicants may visit the DSEDJ (Education and Youth Development Bureau) to use the provided facilities.  However, all actions must still be completed by the applicant in person.

• Advance Payment of Examination Fees

Applicants are required to pay the certification examination fee in advance and submit the subsidy application within 180 days from the date of the examination.

2. Required Documents

When applying for the subsidy, the following documents must be submitted:

a) Proof of Payment for Examination Fees

An official receipt or valid proof issued by the certifying body or its authorised agent.

The document must clearly state:

• Full name of the applicant
• Name of the organisation
• Examination title
• Examination date
• Amount paid

If any information is incomplete, supplementary documents must be provided.
 

b) Proof of Examination Attendance

Issued by the organising institution, the document must include:

• Full name of the applicant
• Name of the certifying body
• Examination title
• Examination date
• Venue
• Examination format

If any information is incomplete, supplementary documents must also be provided. A sample template is available on the designated webpage.
 

3. Application Review and Subsidy Disbursement

The DSEDJ will issue a decision notice within 45 days from the last day of the month in which the application documents are received.
 

Approved:

• The subsidy amount will be reserved in the applicant’s Continuing Education Account. Notification will be sent via the portal, email, and SMS.
• If the available account balance is insufficient, the full available amount will be reserved.

Not approved:

• Notification will be provided via the portal and official letter, supplemented by email and SMS.
• Subsidy payments will be made via bank transfer to the applicant’s bank account in Macao within 3 months from the last day of the approval month.
